Day 8- Nayrobi

On the one hand, I did not have breakfast...again...only a glass of orange juice.

However, on more exciting news, my wedding dress fits! Yay! So the weight loss is not mandatory and therefore stressing, it's only to look better in a bathing suit, which is a valid goal, but at least much less stressful than not fitting into my wedding dress.

For lunch I am having the salmon if it kills me...

And for dinner no idea, but tonight another session with Chris...I can feel the pain already...

D A Y #7 - Jen

Veeery tired right now. Did Pilates class and 10 minutes of running at moderate pace - about 4.5 mph. Body still in pain...guess that's a good thing. So here's the short summary:

Breakfast: (8:30 AM) cheerios with 1%milk and strawberries
Breakfast part 2: (9:30 AM) I woke up hungry today... 1 smaaall waffle (2"x2")with strawberry preserves and whipped cream with a cup of coffee....I'm weak!!

Dinner/Supper: bowl of cheerios with strawberries and ok, ok, ok I admit it I had a small bag of chips...was craving something salty. On the bright side it was "baked" chips

Day 7- Nayrobi

Hello all,

For day 7 I was dying from body pain, so I woke up way late and I did not have breakfast. I had for lunch white rice and pork chops.

I've been trying to eat this salmon for like three days, and have yet to have it. For dinner I actually had...spam...I know, horrible, I only had a little bit though.

But I did have two little bread rolls with butter. And a glass of merengue soda...I was weak.

But I did do the Pilates class at 7:30 with Anabel.

Day 6 - Anabel

Feeling the pain from yesterday's workout...didn't go to gym today though...on the bright side did have sort of a workout dragging 30 pounds of laundry up and down 3 flights of stairs.

Breakfast: Honey nut cheerios with strawberries and 1% milk

Lunch: not hungry but ate a "greek Parfait?" basically yogurt with granola, some nuts, few berries and honey...

Snack: Sarah's birthday today..had scoop of Ice cream and piece of cake...aaand glass of coke. no more birthdays coming up this month ...I think

Dinner: Moro(rice and black beans) with a Pork Chop

Here's to hoping the pain in my legs subsides by tomorrow...look like an old lady when attempting to sit

Day 5 - Anabel Re-cap

so yesterday we went to first training session...Didn't realize how out of shape I was...drank 2 bottles of water in about 15 minutes...felt like I was dying...lol

Wasn't much hungry after gym though so just ate some strawberries with condensed milk...had been craving something sweet.

Day 6- Nayrobi

Today I am finally caught up. Day 6, yay!

Today for breakfast I had a banana.

For lunch I was going to be having a romaine lettuce, tomato, and cucumber salad with broiled salmon instead I had no lunch and for dinner I had sautéed shrimp and baked sweet potato.

For snacks I had a cup of green grapes and one chocolate.

I did not in fact go to the gym, but whatever. At least I ate pretty healthy.

I am in so much pain though...my entire body...damn, I hurt everywhere. I hope this goes away by tomorrow, cuz working out tomorrow with this pain...downright crazy.

Tomorrow there is pilates at 7:30 at the gym, you guys down?

Day 5- Nayrobi

Yay! Day 5, I'm almost caught up.

For day 5 I had no breakfast again, and all I had for "lunch" was white rice and ox tail (which I hate). I ate it in like 30 seconds at like 7:45pm cuz I was running late to the gym. But at least I made it. I was so full during the training session though.

For "dinner" (at 11pm) I had half a ham, salami, and swiss cheese sandwich.

The workout with Chris was brutal. I was crazy tired. Still am. Here's hoping the pain will only last a day.

Day 4- Nayrobi

For day 4 I wasn't good either, still no breakfast.

For lunch I had white rice with sardines in sauce, it was lazy need to do groceries day.

For dinner I had a ham, salami, swiss cheese sandwich. It even had mayo, I know...bad...but it did have mustard. I'm working on switching. Hopefully I will end up switching the mayo for the mustard only, the ham to turkey, the cheese to low fat and the salami to no salami.

Aside from that I basically didn't eat anything else.

I did have half a beer though...blah.

Day 3- Nayrobi

For day 3 I wasn't great. I did not have breakfast because I totally overslept and missed the kwando class I was supposed to go to with Brenae...oops.

For lunch I had rice and chicken (otherwise known as locrio).

For dinner I had a chipotle salad, which was delicious.

For snacks I had these damned chocolates my mom insists on buying since it's around easter time.

Ok, that was all for day 3. I wasn't very good...but at least I wasn't totally horrible.

D A Y #4 - Jen

I'm gonna have to agree with Anabel on this one. We have to write everyday....and comment on each other's postings~~!!!!!

Ummm....yesterday i had some pita bread with tomatoes and cucumbers....and a turkey sandwich.....

and i ate baby carrots, spinach, broccolli, chicken, avocado and some cole slaw for dinner.

i also played wii fit for like an hour with my lil bro. so much fun! worth hunting all over midtown for it.

Day 5 - Anabel

So far today...

Breakfast: bowl of honey nut cheerios with 1% milk

Lunch: Leftover pasta from yesterday's dinner, still friggin delicious

Dinner...to be announced

See you girls later at the Gym for 1st training session

Day 4 - Anabel

Sooo girls we need to be much better. Hopefully Chris can help whip us into shape... 'cause as of right now WE SUCK!! The point of this blog thing was to keep each other in check; so it's important that we try to post every day. I for one, can't usually remember what I ate two days after the fact.

Anyway, yesterday I pretty much spent the day at home hanging out with Michael. I had an orange and some milk and cookies for breakfast. I cooked some spaghetti with shrimp and clams in a white wine/clam sauce...it was friggin delicious. Had some salad with oranges, avocado and romaine lettuce plus a glass of chardonnay. Snacked on some strawberries before bed.

I realize I haven't written down my exercise...mostly cause haven't been great about it.

So basically went to gym on Day 2 (I don't do gym on weekends) and plan to go to Gym on Monday a.k.a Day 5

D A Y #3 - Jen

This is so hard. I have very bad eating habits, hence no self-control. So I went out with some friends from my neighborhood last night, had a few drinks (i did keep it low cal girls), got into some chismes and got home at 7:30 this morning..."slept" for like 3 hours...then went shopping again around 1:30PM...bought a new hair dryer since I broke the other one, and got some tights for the gym (so that my brace can actually fit well)

So I binged. This is my very bad meal of the day. My cousin peer pressured me. We're such fat asses. (but it def. hit the spot.)
Chicken Gyro from Gyro King. Half a slice of cheese pizza. Lemonade...i know. very bad.

Then I kinda felt bad. But I really couldn't shop on an empty stomach. Then at the end of my mini shopping spree, I got really sleepy and got an iced coffee around 4PM.

So, to get focused on my weight loss plan I went to Niketown to get some really nice gym outfits and walked from 59th and Lex to 56th and 8th looking for a Ricky's. Didnt find it at all. This was a happy problem, because afterwards I went hunting for a Wii Fit and finally found one at Best Buy. By using my power of persuasion, I got the guy to let me buy one before they restock next Sunday on March 29th!

I went home, and felt my stomach eating itself so I ate a bowl a cereal.

I'm sorry I suck. I had a Terrible Day.

- Jennn

Day 3 - Anabel

So...very hectic day today not much time for food so I over ate twice, lol.

Breakfast/Lunch: 3 tacos from Chipotle Mexican grill (2 chicken on a hard taco one steak on a soft taco, all with sour cream, cheese, tomatoes, mild sauce)

Dinner/Supper:1 Footlong chicken Teriyaki sub from SubWay. Tomatoes, sweet peppers, cheese, sweet onion sauce and a bottle of water...in my defense passed up soda and chips

TTYL ^_^

~Anabel

D A Y #2 - Jen

Day #2, Day #2, Day #2. I can't fall behind on this because I have very bad memory. Ok lets see...

BREAKFAST-8AM
I ate a cheese pastellito that my mom made for my little brothers class project. Bad.

LUNCH - 11:30-12
I ate pretty early I was starving, not to mention trying to kill time until I had to be at TT.
Salmon sandwich from Pax. Coffee. Martinelli's Apple Juice. Yum.

Went to the gym and was dying of starvation so Chris said i HAD to eat. So eat I did. I ate a Pria Mint Chocolate Power Bar. And bought Muscle Milk. Gross. NEVERERERERRER again.

But...WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I did 45 minutes of Cardio! Dripping in sweat I made it rain on ya"ll!

o yeah, and DINNER 9PM
ate my left over baked potatoe and chicken from BBQ's

- Jennn

Day 2- Nayrobi

Hello all,

Here is my day 2:

Breakfast: 1 slice whole wheat 7 grains bread and 1 egg white omelet

Lunch: Half chicken with honey and one small baked potato

Dinner: Salad from Chipotle (lettuce, black beans, pork, tomato, corn, shredded cheese, and chipotle honey vinaigrette.

And I went to the gym, yay! Although the step class was thoroughly embarrassing, but it was still a good work out for those 20 minutes. And then I did elliptical for 15 minutes. I bench pressed 50 pounds- 4 reps of 15. I did rows-2 reps of 15 at 30 pounds and 2 reps of 15 at 50 pounds. I also did calf raises 4 reps of 15 at 50 pounds. Today, I am tired as all hell. See you all again later for Day 3.

Day 2 - Anabel (Cont.)

So here's my food intake for the day...

Breakfast: Plain yogurt, granola, peach slices (same as yesterday minus the coffee)

Lunch: Chofan (rice with shrimp, scallops, chicken) and maduros (fried ripe plantains)

Dinner: A salad from Chipotle Mexican Grill. Salad was sooo good. Consisted of chicken, black beans, corn, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, grated cheese, guacamole and of course lettuce

Snacks: An Orange, 1/2 a bottle of muscle milk... by the way it tasted disgusting

goodnight, until 2morrow my dears

Day 2 - Anabel

So this is Day 2, I guess I should write a little bit about my goals.

When most people decide to join a gym and change their nutrition habits it’s because they want to loose weight, look thinner, feel more confident, fit in to a dress. Well, I’m pretty thin and extremely happy with my physical appearance. However, I have cholesterol levels through the roof…. Guess appearances can be deceiving.

In early 2008, I went for a physical, about a week later the doctor calls me on my cell, freaking out, telling me someone at 24 should not have cholesterol levels so high and asking me to come in to her office the next day so she could prescribe cholesterol meds. She basically made me feel like I was a stroke waiting to happen. I remember thinking: I AM NOT getting on cholesterol meds at my age. Needless to say I went to get a second opinion.

So after getting a second opinion, the outlook was much less bleak. My doctor performed a lipid breakdown test and told me that although my cholesterol levels were in fact high, my HDL (Good cholesterol) Levels were extremely high, much higher than my LDL (bad cholesterol) levels…which is a good thing. High HDL provides some protection against heart disease. So she basically said I need to lower my LDL by eating right and exercising. I haven’t really been doing much in the way of eating right or exercise … so I’ve been afraid to go check my cholesterol cause I know I haven’t done anything to fix the problem.

All my life I’ve pretty much eaten what I wanted and not gained weight. (I know what a horrible problem to have) The difficult thing is that most people are motivated to make a change because they see the physical effects of eating fatty and harmful foods. Since I’m pretty much happy with my body, eating right hasn’t been a priority but taking a look at my family’s history of heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, etc. is turning out to be a pretty big motivator.

My goal is to lower my cholesterol and build some muscle (especially in the gluteus area) so I can look a little less like a ruler. I want to look fit and feel great and not be a mess 20 years from now.

DAY 1 RE-CAP

Ok. So maybe we sucked just a little on day 1 girls. Today's a new day.

See you all at the gym later!

- jennnn

-Anabel

Day 1- Nayrobi

So, today is the first day of this wedding training program. If we focus and really do what we say we are going to do I know we can do it.

So far today for breakfast I had a yogurt and a cup of grapes. For lunch I will be having a salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, olive oil and vinegar). See you all again for dinner :-D

Also, I'm going to the gym today, any takers?

Update: So...didn't go to the gym either, but I'm down for gym tomorrow?

For dinner I totally went bad, I had breaded baby shrimp, about 7-8 and some fries. There was no dinner cooked at home today :-( I have to go grocery shopping for health snacks.

On a different note, my abs are killing me, I guess the pilates are doing their thing. We better get ready for Chris on Monday, we're gonna be dead.
